MB Selling the G Class in the UK again.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on this, but Mercedes have decided to start selling the G Class in the UK again. This is not available at all dealers, and as far as I know will be LHD, but will be UK spec cars with normal dealer warranty etc.
I will have full details later today and will post up when I have it. I will have the price of the LWB G320, G500, and G55 AMG models.
From what I understand, it will only be available from one dealership, and order time is approximately 3-5 months.
I'll post up again when I have more information.

MB in Park Royal (was Mayfair) always sold the G in full UK spec...
As far as i know, all the diplomatic sales (thus G sales) are through MB Ealing. But what's new int he announcement? They have been selling new G's for several years over here.
Makes my RHD G500 at £25k and only 67.5kmiles a steal then
And you got me all excited.....
I know that Brooklands are trying to be able to sell RHD's. They want to carry the 463 AND the 461 but only 320 and 500 in 463 and the 280, 320 and 300? D's (Not good on my diesel engine sizes).
The problems needed to overcome, that was explained to me was;
Technically the export sales can take orders for ANY mercedes
They don't want the G to take sales from the top end ML and GL range
They think the number would be too low (which is why they pulled out last time)
What Brooklands have see in a number of G's being serviced there, and NEW customers asking when they see the mighty G outside for collection after work is done - why they cant get one in RHD.
MB Brooklands is meant to be the flagship for MB in the UK, so technically they should carry the full range of Road vehicles, with the Australian purchase and the fact that they are not carrying the full compliment of MB's they are trying to get an extension to the RHD run and do some for the UK to UK spec - NOT LHD.
They will not be cheap - that's all they said to me.......

A few weeks ago I had something to do with the Export division(G280CDI BA10s for Taiwan-R.O.C.) and I also asked about the RHD G300CDI(G280CDIs were only available to order until mid-July). They told me it is possible, but the baseprice will be somewhere in 65 000 Euro range without VAT and without options.

Small update for you. Jo, calm down. RHD is available but only in the G55. I think most already knew that.
They have a G55 coming in next week which I am scheduled to see. Black with Black leather, and full options. Unregistered with delivery miles. This one is a LHD though.
I hope to post again later once I have prices of the LHD G320 and G500, and RHD G55.
Max is Park Royal still there? I thought it closed down years back?
