PTO control?
This is a naive question but what is "PTO control". My 20GE A4 has a lever next to the transfer box shifter whose function I can't determine.
The pdf owners manual I have call this PTO Control but I don't understand the acronym or its function :?
hi Ian pto control which means you vehicle is equipped with an auxilliary drive mechanism i believe from transfer box mechanically providing power from drivetrain for driving mechanisms such as winches etc, basically same principal as tractors, thier engines providing mechanical power for whatever they are pulling eg woodchippers bailers etc acronym is power take off david
hi again check this description PTO Gear for G300GE automatic (W461) and G280GE (W460)
pg 2 transmission and drivetrain david
do you have any picturs you can share, underneath as well next To the tc to see if you have the pto fitted
nice one Istanbulian! thanks for referencing my video.
i am planning on fitting a hydraulic winch to mine when my G gets its m117 5 litre transplant (the engine is currently being rebuilt)...there are two control types. on is a 'cable', and as you see in my video, its a blue cable (once you clean all the crap off it!)...there is a second type of control and thats a metal rod ...when i scrapped my donor Gwagen, i accidently forgot to undo the cable on the pto inside the car and destroyed it so i have bought the second style (metal rod control) as the cable is no longer available.
please post pics when you next get your G back!
