took all wheelarches and rubbing strips off

will get some pics of it progress in a few days

took my mate ages to get rear number plate holder thing off bumper - what a pain that was!

Re: rebuild commences

looks like a lot of splendid effort going into the paint job..is that water based paint??.if it is what product did you use for the primer coat...the profile of the rear arches confirms it was factory built with wide wheels and arch extensions.....

heres pics of it finished, sprayed, ive tinted boot windows in limo, and rear seat windows in light smoke. with coded wheel cover, bumpers sprayed, schultz under arches, and fully polished, all new door handles fitted, new screen

needless to say it went a bit over budget, but Im dead pleased with it, heres a pic of it before

Re: rebuild commences

it runs great, it had £1300 spent on all bushes, prop rebuild, oils filters etc about 1000 miles ago before I bought it, goes as well as can expect (65mph) 70 and a bit downhill, brakes are good, drivers seat is being rebuilt next week then Im done.

cost -mmmm I think my budget was around £4000 for purchase and restoration so Im pleased with what ive ended up with as I think it'd sell for over that, and if not Im not bothered because Ive always wanted one, and from the little I've learnt it seems the Diesels and also the LWB ones hold money the best and are most sought after

Re: rebuild commences

Hi that G' was a good spec with the nine seats.I was top bid on Ebay at GBP2900 when some ***^**@** bid it up to GBP 4000 and then walked away..had an interested party here in Northern Ireland...you can reset the timing on the pump to get more fuel into the cylinders...about 15% better performance as a result..still very slow when cold......Congratulations --a nice G'....
