I have read on this forum that the new air con gas is not compatible with the old systems (91 463). After a re gas the temperature is not cold enough. What parts would I need to replace so the new gas works with the old system?
Thanks

Re: Air Con

Hello Grant,

Before gasing up, the operator should have checked for evidence of any leaks or damage to th a/con system and lines. At applying vacuum to the system, recorded if the vacuum pressure held or had a leak, before gasing should have remedied and leaks.

It would have been advicable to have renewed the condensor (not cheap) but a unit that has a deteramentale effect on cooling.

Upon gassing up adegquate oil should have been added to the charing medium.

To make the converserion to the new gas, all the O-seals and rubber seals need to be renewed within your system, I am not certain if this applies to the rubber hoses as well, new condensor and puhaps the heatexchanger(?). There may be other sensory bits to look at, like, the Hot temperature sensor, high/low pressure sensor and there is one other that does not come to mind at present.

Cheers
