off roading sites near circencester (eg ones you pay for)

I cannot think of one, unless you know the farmers in person... I think most fields are occupied by agricultural activities during this time of the year. However, there are a few byways around. I have spent the later part of my childhood in a village between ciren and cheltenham...

I know one is quite fun to drive on... about 6 miles away from ciren on the way to cheltenham on the A435, you will see a sign pointing to the right leading to Rendcomb College (the school I used to go to!!)... don't turn right there, drive on for about 20 meters and you will see a small country lane going uphill just before the bus stop. Go up that lane and you will arrive in a village called Woodmancote. Turn left at the end of the road and turn again on the next right... the you will come to some relatively worse looking houses than rest of the ones in the village, that is called Burcombe. Turn left again and go through those houses, and right again at the end of this short road. By now you are driving on Burcombe Lane... countinue ahead and the normal road eventually disappears and simply follow the track. You will drive down to a valley and then up again, the end of this 'off-road-track' is quite near the A417.

I guess many people in Woodmancote would know what a G is, perhaps you might even talk to someone who would say 'I know somebody else has one of those.' to you... The other G would be mine!!

If you are in doubt, just drive into Rendcomb and ask the shop people for the direction for Burcombe, and you can have a look round the school I went as well!!!

It is such a shame that I will not be around the area tomorrow, i was there last week and will be going back quite soon......
