Considering a 460: I have 2 naive questions:-

(a) The 460 has typical rust to both rear 3 quarter panels below the lights. What would be a ball-park for the likes of the G Wagen Centre or Ballooner to cut out the effected areas, replace & respray?
(b) What would be the price of a standard annual service?

...or do I just keep with my Jeep Grand Cherokee :)

Re: Bodywork costs

I have no idea about question (a), but for a 463's service is about £300, + the stuff you might need to change/fix.

Re: Bodywork costs

Although im new to this - and dont want to put anyone down -I would suugest you mnight get a cheaper quote using a local bodyshop for this type of work rather than a G wagen specialist

Im having my g wagen fixed up (one rear light bit, one sill repair, on at bottom of screen, and then sprayed)

Its pretty dead in the bodyshop world at the mo, find a good chap who needs the work and you will get a good price

Re: Bodywork costs

Hi
My 460 is in the garage now having the dreaded rust seen to and as said above I found yourself a compitant welder/fabricator and he is doing a good job as the metal is man enough to work with.

I am having front wings repaired sills etc and then a partial respray and expect to be less than £1000

I was made redundant one time and bought a cabrio 460 with collapsing hood and brought it back to life with a lot of the work being done by me as therapy and I commuted some 150 miles a day in it when I did eventually find work.

Enjoy and best of luck
Murph
