Hi all,
As you may already know i'm putting a v8 in my 280 ge.
I started a decade ago but only recently found time to continue.
The V8 i have has been removed by someone else out of donorcar, so I 'm having a small problem with identification of some part.
Maybe someone here can help me?
Number on part is 000 141 14 25 also marked on part is VDO 408.202/004/001
There are 2 pins for electrical connection and if i'm correct ( this is not sure) then i have a connector with 3 wires. two time black/red and one black/blue.
Following questions remain:
What is it for and do I need it foor running the v8
If so how is it connected.
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Dirk

Re: Part identification

G500,

A picture says 1000 words,.... it would be of help. Otherwise a local M/benz dealer at the parts department will be able to tell you.

At a guess, and only a guess MIND; I would say it may be a coolant temperature sensor, if so, it may or maynot be necessary for it to be wired up for smooth running of the engine. That will depend upon, if this engine senses its warm up from the conventional temperature sensor, if yes it is required to be wired, or if the warm up is sensored from a seperate sensor feeding a signal direct to the ECU. In which case it is not required.

Re: Part identification

A 000 141 14 25 is an idle speed actuator

Sorry can't help with the rest of the question.

Good luck
