Frustating electrical fault.... any pointers?

Had this happen before + swapped out battery which solved it (Temporarily) ...now back!!

Indicate left and wipers run.
Flash lights - wipers run.
Lights on - wipers run continuously (Fine on rainy nights!!)
N/S Indicator dimly lit continuously when lights on.

Anyone had similar and solved it?

Running out of hair!!

Re: Bad Earth!!

Hi Marty Bad Earth!! look for decay in the loom around the battery tray/behind the glove box..waggle the wires around a bit...the - negative lead from the battery is connected to a cluster of wires at the bulkhead. clean any corrosion with baking/bicarbonate of soda mixed in water and apply with a small paint brush....it will foam all sorts of green gunge out of the joints .....

Re: Bad Earth!!

At the risk of sounding simple...why not swap out a known good working indicator stalk, as most of those functions are combined there, so it might be contributing.

Must get some baking soda next time I go tesco's...

Anytime, I just hope it's something simple like that, I dread electrical faults...

Re: Bad Earth!!

After a dashboard strip down, stereo rip out, battery replacement etc etc..... Fault traced to the front N/S indicator. Spotted a dull glow when lights were on. Should have paid more attention to that when 1st noted.

Well pleased...... just have to put it all back together again!!
