460 to 463 read door wiring conversion
Hi all,
im contemplating getting the wiring on my 460 converted from the external look to the nicer 463 internal look which you dont see!
aside from cutting holes in the inner rear door pieces and covering the existing 460 ones up, it appears there is a mechanism on the 463 to prevent kinking of the wiring ie not just a simple tube with wires in it.
has anyone ever looked at there 463 with the rear D pillar trim off??
im not sure what parts you exactly need (see attached epc pic). those bits around part 400 are what i believe i need, but im not sure if the spring above it (440) and associated bits are also needed?
any advice appreciated (pics of anyones 463 setup would be great!
regards
nathan
Hi Nathan,
I did this conversion on my white G and the 'mechanisim is as simple as a spring and a 'p' clip. The spring attaches to the bodywork in the corner and tyo the the 'p' clip attached to the caple. This keeps some pressure on the convoluted tubing to avoid kinking as you close the door. I don't have a photo I'm afraid. I am also doing this conversion on my Green G but haven't got around to it yet.
John
Hi Nathan this post has most of your answers, but you might need to sign up with them to view the photo attachments. A few of us are also members there and it is a good place for G advice too.

Very informative. My 460 already has the internal wiring. Was it standard on the later models?
Hi Standard fit after 1985.... seems to coincide with the change of seat cloth to the larger check....great detail on the Modification..fortunately all you have to do is cut the cables replace the conduit and crimp.......
thanks a lot guys,
M2 - that certainly answers my questions re parts
John, ill likely be in email mode qhen i get the bits for further instruction!
best regards and thanks
