Heart transplant
Im considering a heart transplant on the 'G' ,at the moment ita 1990 300GD, but i heard a whisper the sprinter heart goes straight in , & even couples upto the g/box, Is it true? Has anyone doe it ? I am sure ot would make a vast improvement to the ol'gal ! I think she got arthritis, wow. :?
Maybe a few outings in the Terrano didnt help !!!

Yes and no. Sump will not clear and you wont be able to shut the bonnet
Once that and the electrics are sorted you will have a fairly quick G with economy also . Will 4.88 diffs mine gets to 120k/ph smartly
Assume yours is manual . If so an overdriven box would improve it .
My neighbour is getting rid of a BMW 325tds. I've heard of at least one G with this engine in. Let me know if you're interested.
Hi Bushcraft you may want to consider the OM 617A factory built turbo D engine (as exported to the USA) I have one sitting in a 300SD saloon in Scotland with 148.000mls on the clock and I have one fitted in an 86 SWB 300d....total transformation. been in two years... humps trailer loads of beef to market and tows a tri axle trailer with Massey 35 tractor on to agri shows around Ireland --- only the early sprinter engine with mechanical fuel management is suitable and requires major engneering to the mounts due to height. I can Email you pics of the 300SD saloon and will PM you other details if interested .......
lovelly, please do. Regards
