Heart transplant

Im considering a heart transplant on the 'G' ,at the moment ita 1990 300GD, but i heard a whisper the sprinter heart goes straight in , & even couples upto the g/box, Is it true? Has anyone doe it ? I am sure ot would make a vast improvement to the ol'gal ! I think she got arthritis, wow. :?

Maybe a few outings in the Terrano didnt help !!! :oops:

Yes and no. Sump will not clear and you wont be able to shut the bonnet
Once that and the electrics are sorted you will have a fairly quick G with economy also . Will 4.88 diffs mine gets to 120k/ph smartly
Assume yours is manual . If so an overdriven box would improve it .

My neighbour is getting rid of a BMW 325tds. I've heard of at least one G with this engine in. Let me know if you're interested.

Hi Bushcraft you may want to consider the OM 617A factory built turbo D engine (as exported to the USA) I have one sitting in a 300SD saloon in Scotland with 148.000mls on the clock and I have one fitted in an 86 SWB 300d....total transformation. been in two years... humps trailer loads of beef to market and tows a tri axle trailer with Massey 35 tractor on to agri shows around Ireland --- only the early sprinter engine with mechanical fuel management is suitable and requires major engneering to the mounts due to height. I can Email you pics of the 300SD saloon and will PM you other details if interested .......
