Passenger heated seat not working. I have power to the seat so the Question is.. is it possible/worth it to strip the seat to find the fault? After all it's just the Wifes seat! leather Seats by the way

Re: Heated Seat

It would have been a wasted effort to find that the seats element needs replacement. My last enquiry of this some eight years ago was some £400 each element!

cheers,

Re: Heated Seat

You can buy just the element for retro fit in Sweden for about £20 but they do not do mail order out of Sweden :-( . Have these on one of my other cars..

Alternatively there are people in US doing heated seat kits for £80 or so.. these just sit between foam and seat cover if you can get in..

No doubt not as large and maybe not so powerful as OEM

Re: Heated Seat

Have you checked the circuit on the heater element? There may be a fault other than the element

Re: Heated Seat

I've repaired it myself. Removed the seat from the truck. Stripped seat cover (textile I have) and used multimeter, one probe equipped with needle to locate the breakage point. Luckily the breakage point was on the edge of the cushion where the heating element wire makes the U-turn. Luckily, because there was enough of the free lenght to repaire the wire.
Good luck to you too.
