While searching on eBay for anything interesting or useful G-wise, I came across a manual by Peter Russek. It covers the 460 models with sections on most of the major mechanical systems and includes wiring diagrams and a fair bit of technical data.
It cost me about £12 and in the absence of a Haynes book for the G-Wagen I have found it very useful and would recommend it to others.

This must be the one. If so, it is the translation into English of the Bucheli (Swiss german) manual. Not bad in the absence of others but the MB paper manuals are far superior. It covers only the W460 models.
