Does anybody know what the ignition advance is for a 230GE with a M102 engine?
Mine is down on power and feels like it's a bit retarded. HT leads were recently replaced, so I plan to put in new plugs, and clean distributor cap and rotor arm. I have strobe light but it would help to have a starting point for any adjustment.

Thanks for that, it will give me a reference point to start from. Filters are OK.

M102.989 engine

Adjusting plug set at "S", Ignition timing should read 28 degrees BTDC @ 4000/min and vacuum pipe(s) OFF. Plug set at "N", Ign. tmg. should read 24 degrees BTDC @ 4000/min, vac. pipe(s) OFF. This enigine is already set up for unleaded fuel set up, other wise the general rule was to retard timing by 3 degrees.

After setting recheck the timing at idle speed of 700- 800/min, ign. tmg should in between 12 - 16 degrees BTDC, with vacuum pipe(s) ON.

Cheers,
