Battery Light
I have just come from a drive in my 460 G,when I took the key out of ignition the red battery light has stayed lit.I checked that everything is switched off, what could be the cause of this? Thanks.
You may have a charging or over charging problem
im sure that someone will reply with the answer shortly
Hi Finn a wiring fault or a voltage regulator fault ..does the light go out "Completely" when the engine is running..if fault persists disconnect the positive lead of the battery. a faulty regulator can cause the alternator to burn out or short some wires....if the battery is left connected....
Yes should be ok.have them check if they changed the alternator from the other engine.the regulator fits on the back of the alternator case so not too difficult to change.might be a wiring problem that developed as a result of the engine change.
Thanks Peter, the light goes out when engine is running,I disconnected positive.I will take it down to garage first thing in the morning ,only happened today. Will it be alright to drive if I disconnect positive when I return home if garage closed for Easter?
