immobilizer??
anyone ever had probs with immobilizer?
linked to remote locking breaks in the backdoor interface wiring can give you grief..... you will need an awareness of how the unit was installed and how it should perform its function.fob operation can be erratic..not an easy system to try and diagnose on the forum....
post your vehicle vin / chassis number here and from the factory build spec some details will emerge ..if this vehicle was built in Greece then it may have some magic gadget the military put on...most immobilizers break the electrical circuit to the starter of have a solenoid in the fuel line or a hidden switch..ask a policeman who has driven one..he may know the secret..I know of an African security force who wire the starter circuit through the cigarette lighter socket ..you had to push the lighter in to make the circuit.....not every "wouldbe" car thief carries a car cigarette lighter as part of his "Klefti" kit
Hi Build specification shows factory fitted central locking..no immobilizer... black interior..load space seats..G' built in 1999.. ordered from MB Germany by the Greek Maindealer with special request for heavy duty suspension
anyone ever had probs with immobilizer?
Only with every one I've EVER encountered!! Rip it out!!
it can be disconnected ..once you have traced the wiring and method of immobilizing...check for spurious wiring around the fuse box area.ask the previous owner/Mercedes original supplier was Greek main agent....could be something was installed by them prior to delivery or fitted in the police workshops....
