fan heater
all the 'G's i see the fan dont work !! Wat is this common fault, is it the switch or the fan motor ? the switch i suppose i can check. But..... does the motor take off the fan housing or what ever or is it a complete unit. Help appreciated, cheers.
Unfortunately it's usually the fan itself and you have to remove the whole dash to get at it.

Or if you don’t mind bodging

Thanks Russ, I have been looking for that thread - my heater fan seized and set on fire    a few weeks ago and there's no way I'm pulling out the dash :x
The price of a new heater blower motor for the 460/461 series G' is GBP 95 from GSF parts. Part Number BEW009160-301.... (we won't mention MB).... to replace it the heater box has to be removed which means taking out part of the dash...failure is mainly caused by allowing the drain in the bottom of the air box to block with detritis which allows rain or washing water to flood the motor which is not a sealed unit.rumbling or screeching is the early warning of imminent failure...using a long pipe on an aerosol lubricant and spraying in behind the the fan at the back of the air box can sometimes delay the inevitable....I have limited stock at GBP70 if anyone is interested......
Exellent go to the top of the class !! Thanks to all :)
