Re: fitting g with turbo

thats a better picture the first pipes are vaccum pipes that control auto gear box and engine stop etc one does go to turbo thing with shinny top ive disconected this so none of this stuff is relevent to turbo .thing in middle sits on top of rocker cover and works with throttle linkage to swith vaccum pipes on and off (i surspect turbo has come off a automatic )the other pipe looks like the one from the manifold back to the fuel pump .i'll get cammera out tonight and try and show you . good luck

Hi the pipe with the flange fitting is the oil delivery which attaches to the place where the two bolts are screwed into the side of the turbo ..the other end attaches to a right angled fitting underneath the oil filter ( you will have to remove the oil pressure sender to fit the "T" fittting....the other pipes look like part of the emissions control system as fitted in the United States..you will not get peak performance with the original 300D exhaust.keep the new pipe bore as large as the flange at the rear of the turbo all the way..a side entry single muffler helps.once you have got it all plumbed up you can put a boost guage into the output side and set the wastegate for optimum boost...if your engine is not the original OM671A keep the boost well back..you will have to set the injector pump timing to give you more fuel on a non OM617A engine....

That thing on the right is the 'overboost' protection valve. One end plumbs into the manifold, goes to the valve, and then to the top of the ALDA on the injectionpump. If an overboost is sensed, the valve will open and thus exposing the alda to atmospheric pressure and so reducing fuel.

(I think......)

Anyway, it is a safety thing. Will dig out more info later

Cheers

Re: fitting g with turbo

You will have to instal an "oil return" pipe from the base of the turbo to the sump...to avoid bits of aluminium falling into the sump pan when you are drilling the hole for the fitting it is advisable to remove the sump pan....fine particles of aluminium in hot oil tend to clog the oil galleries and can result in major /terminal damage........
