Mine's come off. Does anyone know if you can just get a new/used tail pipe, thread it through and weld it to the back box? If so does anyone have a servicable one? It's ony just passed it's MOT  so don't really want to get a whole new system just yet.

You can try and get some tubing easily got from local motor factors to insert the two pipes together and clamp either end. There is some measuring to do, you will need to ask for an over size tubing which is possible to get.

Once you have got you pipe that will fitt both ends of pipe, make a cross cut with your hacksaw on each end of you pipe extension, just like you have on new exhaust pipes. Smear some exhaust sealant and fitt the pipe clamping them down.

Hi
if its only the tail pipe ,go to your nearest
exhaust fitter and get him to weld a pipe on it
rather that buying a new bit
and when you are replacing it do it with
stainless steel

Jetex does various exhaust parts - pipes, silencers, connectors etc.

Look at http://www.jetex.co.uk/website/jetexcustomexhaustparts.php for details.

Good luck

Re: 280 tail-pipe

It is just the tailpipe but the end still attached to the back box is pretty shot. Didn't think it would be possible to weld to it, think it will have to be cut off at the silencer. Thought getting a whole new tail pipe would be a better job but wasn't sure if you could thread it in from the back over the tank. Thanks for the advice though. Tom

Re: 280 tail-pipe

you don't need to route it over the fuel tank, a short piece of pipe either curved down or to the side similar to the 463 will do the job.

Think that's what we'll do for the time being. Thanks all.

Hi Tom this is just a inline piece you need to interface the back box and the tailpipe.... try Quickfit or similar the should have gash offcuts that will do the trick..make sure they line up the other end of the tailpipe to be equi distant from the sides of the tunnel over the fuel tank...critical if it is a plastic tank.........
