After nearly breaking my winch cable again it might be time to get a wireless remote. Found this one WIRELESS WINCH REMOTE CONTROL

Has anyone used one of these and do they work?

Re: WIRELESS WINCH REMOTE CONTROL

haven't used one of these. I've got the Warn one (which is also a much smaller device) and found it to be very good. Only problem with the warn one is, of course, the price. Think they're around 130ish (but they DO work and, if you're a spotter, you can really stand quite a safe distance back - or if you're by yourself, sort out getting the ground anchor to grip properly). hope that helps your decision/ph

Re: WIRELESS WINCH REMOTE CONTROL

Ive had a few sets of those they are "ok" for the price for occasional use.
If you going to give it a lot of use buy a professional one sold by most winch suppliers.
would always keep the wander-lead as a back up though, the most problems I had with these were the battery terminals were not great, so sometimes had to take the back off and fiddle with the battery, but as there is a red led on the unit if it didn't come on when you pressed the button you knew it was a problem with the remote.
also if the control box doesn't get 12v like when you vehicles battery starts to discharge after a lot of winching it will cut in and out, very annoying! I think I would fit a wire to supply the control box with 12v from the alternator if I was ever to use them again
