talk to a good auto electrician and ask if your alternator can be uprated

I think someone on here had their alternator rewound to give 125amps, as Prwales says ask a good auto electrician or motor rewind shop. Let us know how you get on.

No good churning out 120amps + and not having batteries to receive it...fit two batteries in parallel to give the extra amps you need.......and are going to put in them......

Damien,

I upgraded my 300GE with a 150Amp alternator from a E430.....it did fit the M103 engine just perfect but I had the change the pulley over.

You M110 engine has a different mounting - that alternator might not work for you.

You don't need to have some special batteries when upgrading to the higher output alternators, but you need to increase the wire size for the B+ (+12V) cable from the alternator to the battery - check the ground cable as well,

Most of all newer vehicle with high output alternators have the B+ (big) cable routed straight to the starter and not first to the battery any longer.

The original 85A on the left and the new 150A alternator on the right

Heavy gauge wire for the winch lock-out switch and a 100A fuse for the 850W electric radiator fan (G55)
