Hi all,

I am looking for a used Preining roofrack for my 290GD as a new one is too expensive  . If anybody wants to sell his or if you know one who does want to sell his, I would really appreciate it if you would let me know.

I have attached a picture of it for everybody's reference

Thanks in advance.

Nonong

Those racks are rare and difficult to purchase even new. I highly doubt that you will be able to get one as any that do come up get snapped up very quickly.

Being in the Philippines you'd probably be better to get one of the expedition racks out of Australia.

Hi Nonong,

I have just had a rack made for me by patriot roofracks here in Bedford, UK. They didn't have the pattern but have used mine for their prototype/measurements. As luck would have it, I'm supposed to be picking it up tomorrow! I'll take a picture of it once I've fitted it and post it for you to give you an idea of an alternative to the Preining.

Will be back,
Phileas

Hi Maxwell,

Yes the Australian racks are also good but I really like shape and construction of this one. Another reason why I wanted this rack is that is has a steel plate on top and being here in the Philippines where it really gets hot, it can serve as a dual purpose as an additional insulation against the sun just like the tropical double-roof in some G's.

Thanks and regards,

Nonong

That steel plate has been added. You could do the same to any rack.

hi nonong. i think they only do them for the lwb, but the roof measurements are exactly the same, so that rack would be the same width but just have a shorter length. i would give the owner a call. his name is paul hogarth and has been very helpful to me with my enquiries. their website used to be www.patriotroofracks.co.uk if you need the get the phone number.

good luck/ph
