Brake Pads for A G400
As the title may suggest, does anybody know of any performance brake pads that will fit my G or the part number for the sprinter ones that fit it?
Thanks in advance.

Try one of the sites in the above blogs; it is a little meaning less to take on performance brake pads without matching upto a similar performance brake discs.
Regards,
Brake pads are the largest variable on the coefficent of friction in the brake system, up to 50% extra available and as you can also up the maximum operating temperature you can make things more fade proof.
Brake discs are all pretty much chill cast iron with less than 15% variation at the max in friction; more likely 5-10%. You can get drilled or grooved which helps a bit I guess (but watch out as most drilled ones will crack unless they are made to be drilled) and not sure how much that ups the friction.. at slow speeds not a lot, at higher speeds/rates it allow the gas out from under the pads.
Guess the first question is what is the current failure?
.. high speed/heavy loads = fade & operating temperature
.. or low speed is coefficent of friction
But then there is a trade here; high temp pads generally do not work when cold so your first light check braking performance will feel poor..
..now finding a brake supplier who understands this.. hum. Try Ferrodo or Mintex.
Here is one from a Google for "Mercedes Mintex G";
http://www.mercedescarparts.co.uk/info/mintexbrakepads/mercedes/G-Class%20(W460,%20W461,%20W463)/
It list G400 Rear Mintex pads as MBD1997 which is the same for all rear disc 461/463 including G55 .. which if true should be man for the job.
It's only the rear ones that are the same as the sprinter if I'm right as it has the integral shoes for the handbrake.

Have you replaced your pads and disks yet? If so which brand did you use?
try "International Brake" I get callipers and pads from them.....
Thanks all,
I have no problems with my brakes but with 65000 miles on the clock they need replacing soon and I thought it would be better value to buy non-mercedes performance brakes rather than genuine ones. I was planning to change discs and pad if they are available.
I've emailed EBC and other brake companies but no one list them for the 400.. but looking at that Mintex site the brake pads seam to be the same for all the new G's including the G55! so I guess I can go back to them with a differant model?
