Pic below is of a custom G with between 720-740 bhp. It has the same engine as the cls rocket and this is more powerful then the SLR engine G.

I'll try and get more pics..

I am sorry, but I fail to see the point. The chasis and suspension is based on a 1979 design which had a sub 100 hp engine. Surely putting something like that in it is not a good idea.

Hmmm... ya, i am wondering that as well. Any machine would have a development limit... a new machine is required when the pervious generation reaches this point...

Re: 720 BHP G Class!

it might be OK in a dark colour but is simply pimptastic in white, re the development issues, wasn't the Brabus GV12 not unlike this in concept, rear drive only? I can't really see the point of such power in a vehicle with such poor cornering characteristics as a G-wagen. However I am confident that someone will correct me on this. Lowering springs, roll bars etc.

I fail to see the point in it too but to each their own.

For the amount of money that that thing probably cost I would rather have my G300TD, a G320 CDI cabrio AND a sports car - perhaps something like the Tesla which does 0-100 in the mid to high 3 seconds....

And I would still probably have a fair bit of change left over....

i have various clothes in the wardrobe but only like one particular pair of jeans

i would have that G as a`sports car, off road monster and anything else you care to call it....'

man that G rocks :!:

its chassis can handle more than 720 stallions for sure...

Yes but you couldn't wear those jeans to a nice restaurant... and that G is hardly an off-road monster yet alone a sports car.

An ideal acquisition for the person who already has a Hummer but wants something even more crass, and an even better technical and mechanical abomination.

It would look good in yellow, bigger wheels and a bit more chrome though
Just proves money can't buy taste or brains

Ah yes  Can you get them in chrome?

And a roof spoiler would finish it off nicely

Yep I’d have lot’s of toys for that sort of money.

Then with the remaining £2K we could have a Top Gear type challenge.
£400ish on something to whip it’s ass off road and £1,600ish to make it look slow and stupid on normal roads should do it

Re: 720 BHP G Class!

You have to understand that the guy who owns it has plenty of other cars. Sports and off-road. Everyone has their own tastes and want a different experience from their cars. Some people buy a 4x4 to predominantly offroad. Most however never see the dirt track. Im on my second G and never been offroad in my life. I want to, but my main reason for buying it is to use it everyday.

In the middle east oil is cheaper than chips. My car used to cost me £2.80 to fill up compared to £100 over here. Having a huge engine over there is not an issue, and the driving there is generally quick (except downtown Dubai). I can totally understand why someone would want a G with so much power. I wish mine did!

Gosh really, who’d have thought that?

Still doesn’t alter the fact that it’s a Frankenstein car. Visually it’s a chav mobile. Worse still it’s a mechanical and technical abomination
