Hi,

Can't help with off road locations in Co.Down but welcome to the fold all the same. If you bought Martys one you sure got a great vehicle there. You will discover very little left undone in that one.

Might meet up at the next get together hopefully.

Regards,

Mike

Huss,

Country of origin? You learn something new everyday. G wagens were assembled and built in Northern Ireland!

Hee,Hee

Couldn't resist!

Mike

Re: Off road in Co.Down.

Hi and welcome Finn. Off roading in the Kingdom eh? well 10 years ago, it was a simple case of asking the farmer if you could blast across a field.... but to day it can be oh So complicated.

If you want to find out good routes, local knowledge is always a great asset, just watch out for the various 'crap' you now have to deal with when going off road and watch out for the 'Bobble hat' brigade, who are the natural enemies of anyone with a 4x4!

However I digress....... enjoy you G, you have a great piece of kit there, and knowing who you got it off It would have been tenderly looked after (I toyed with buying his AMG a few months back, (but She - who-must-be -obeyed, said 'No'  )

Re: Off road in Co.Down.

Thanks a lot for help will phone Colin over holidays.I have never driven a G Wagen before and yesterday and today were my first chance to give the car a good workout. The experiance has been fantastic.Once I got over my unease at driving a larger car than I was used to,Martin will probably laugh when he recalls the look on my face as I left his place! Had car in with the mechanics I use and they said Martin had done a great job on it,the father was in high praise for the quality of the car's construction and they both were looking forward to keeping it in top condition.I have found this forum a terrific help as I was visiting it for months before I bought my car, thanks a lot and looking forward to seeing you all in the future.P.S I understand now why there is so much discussion about the turbo!
