Hi,

My GD 300 1989, 617 engined Wagen's temperature gauge goes to 3/4 immediately and stays there, but really only on cold days and sometimes motorway driving (I only take her up to 55 mph though).

If it is Warm or even hot it will stay half way no problem.

Any help welcome, thanks.

Happy new year forumites!

Hello.
Sorry, I have been away for a few days. It will go to 3/4 after about 3-5 minutes running.

would suggest you change the thermostat which seems to be erratic and is holding the water in the cylinder head too long....as you say it drops back to the half position eventually....
