We were there yesterday... gorgeous, amazing, gobsmacking!....

We crossed La Quesera without a problem (there wasn't too much snow) but after having lunch in Riaza, Segovia we went back to Wadi-al-Hajara (وادي الحجارة) and drove like 70 miles of beautiful snowy tracks... we ended up on a hill near Cantalojas, beaten by a powerful snow drift while the night fell upon us... we lost the track within so much snow and it took us 3 hours to find our way down the very steep banks of the hill to Cantalojas....

Pictures will come soon... a taster for now

The are some beautiful ones missing, made while the sun was coming down so do please return later and they will all be there!

Regards!

This is the picture of nervousness: Freyer looking for a track to drive down to civilizaction, in the middle of the snow drift and while light was disappearing very rapidly...

It took us almost three hours to reach the village down the hill which was at all times within eyesight....

Jesus, Is this where we went with you? I can picture you guys "lost" looking for the track under the snow.
Presumably there is no lasting damage to your G after the rollover.

No, it is not the place we were with you guys. Tha was near Prádena(# 1), in Segovia, in the north-west side of the Guadarrama mountain range. The place we ended our off-road journey yesterday was near Cantalojas (# 14), in Guadalajara, in the south-east side of the same Guadarrama mountains.

This is a map of the track we lost (in blue) and the route we eventually took (in red). We obviously did not have any maps, GPS or any other navigation aid at the time. Problem also is that the route we eventually found was extremely twisty and steep near the "Tinada del Carrascalejo" and Freyer got through there without chains (I think he becomes crazier with age). The other two Gs were only fitted with front chains once they realized that attemting to drive down there without chains probably meant a sure rollover down the hill.

But any effort was well worth it!

I have to take it to the panelbeater to fix the window frame becuase as it is now, I cannot get the window tu fully close (and it is darn cold here, as you can see). But first I have to get the replacement mirror which is on its way apparently...

Most Gs here used for off-roading have longer springs. The cheapest solution is a local manufacturer which offers a number of springs for the G. Scroll down for specifications:

As for the silver 460, yes, it's got a 2.3 16 v engine with a hand-made exhaust manifold. It's surprinsingly nice to drive, apparently:

It's also had its roof cut so that it can be removed in summer:

Cheers
