460 230GE swb. The rubber gator around my transfer box selector lever, inside the car, is perished. Is this a original Merc order item or available anywhere else? (have looked without success)

Also a few others ....

Driver & passenger exterior window base trim - ditto.

Rear light seals.

Bolts for alloy wheels (the longer ones)

Plastic plugs for rubber side trims (plug into body to take the screws). - ditto

If there are cheaper sources for any of above I'd be grateful to hear.

Thank you.

Thanks fore your replies. Incidentally I watch ebay regularly but haven't seen wheel bolts under 'g wagon/wagen' ... are they in common with any other vehicle?

Hi,

I've to buy a gear lever gator this week from my dealer/stealer. Not a hardship to order the transfer lever gaitor too. I may decide to change the one you are afer too...so will pass on for a much smaller contribution!

Let me know,

Mart

I had to buy the rubber gaiter for my 300GD 463. I just went straight to your a Merc Stealer. It cost something like a fiver.... presumably the one for the 460 will be a similar price.

Fleabay bolts.. well nearly; still never decided on the radius of the head but they are common Euro bolts at the end of the day.

460/463 (G Class) bolt pattern on wheels is 5x130
There are also 3 different radii for radius seated bolts - 12, 13 and 14mm

Re: 460 Selector lever gator

Was that for a 460? Surely they can't be that much more... or did order the leather gaiters?

Re: 460 Selector lever gator

Just looked it up. £4.29 + VAT. Of course that was a few years ago but surely it can't have gone up 100% per year....

Re: 460 Selector lever gator

Anyone got a part no. for the gator/boot?

Just to re-emphasise this is the boot for the transmission selector lever (4wd selector) - not the gear stick.

My local MB dealer cannot find it on his system.

The one mentioned above is for without center console - he initially supplied this and it won't fit - different size and fitting..

Thanks!

Re: 460 Selector lever gator

Like all Merc parts + the increase in the euro....the prices quoted above are well out.

I bought both boots for my SWB pickup at a cost of £40+!!

If you pm me your address I'll stick the old one in ae envelope. Its fully serviceable...just needs a clean.

Cheers

Re: 460 Selector lever gator

Thanks Martin! I've replied & we'll hopefully do a little deal .....

I'm impressed by this place. I'm having some of the best time I've had in a long time restoring my lovely old G I've owned since 1991. I'm getting there & it's looking great. Did the MOT today and having been stored for 8 years only failed on brake lights (seems I have fitted single filament bulbs in the rebuild, silly me) and a perished rubber fuel pipe.

I have owned a lot of classic cars in my life including other classic Mercs, Bentley, Aston Martin (landrovers too but I'm afraid didn't qualify - classic .. but not the quality) ... and have always been aware that the G is a GREAT machine.

Some day I may actually join the GWOA and even tell this G's story with photos but for now I would like to say thanks! The info to my questions has been great and very helpful.
