Re: Spanner Anna says "is this a Trick Question" ?

If all the cables for the rev counter are already there, I would say that you just need the rev counter from a five cylinder diesel W460, so your only options are to get it from a 300GD, or a 250GD or a 290GD.

I would suggest German E-bay because rev counters were quite rare in all but the latest 300GDs and 250s and 290s are rare Gs anyway.

Good luck

Re: Spanner Anna says "is this a Trick Question" ?

I had not responded to this blog any earlier, because I felt I had nothing contructive to offer.

But in just trying to make a point of my obersavation, I now feel I can contribute.

Firstly, I wanted to comment on the photo you posted earlier, of the c/shaft. oil seal. Your picture shows the o/seal removed and the new seal being offered up to the c/shaft. orifice. Yet your front of the engine is sqeaky clean, no signs ofany oil leak. I deduce you must have a steam cleaner by which you have done anexcellent job of it.

Secondly, Re: rev. counter, I refer you to James, at the G-Wagen UK or International, I have sent you his web address a couple of times already, you should have this or just find on the google search engine by typing in g-wagens.

Regards,
