My paint colour is called what?
Hi to all you G Owners out there i am new to this as just joined today anyway could someone please tell me what is the name of the colour of my G 250 GD 3 DOOR LHD, i have no books for her but just used the russian data code vin identification that i found here on GWOA and it came up with PAINT 7728 Unknown code ? the paint is metalic champagne/beige type colour but that is all i know, thanks in advance Anna

I think we are moving closer to solve this riddle.... paint code 7728 is definitely Mövengrau metallic, which was discontinued by Mercedes in 1980, but your datacard also shows code Z98 "Paintwork Outside Sample ard" which leads me to think that Mövergrau metallic is a special customer's order:
You see, it does not even appear in the EPC (see that colour codes go in numeric order):
So maybe your G is even rarer than you think?
Mortinson, just had another look at the DATACODE it says E51 bicycle rack, alustyle (double) am i reading that as it had a bicycle rack fitted once ? also S34 passenger compartment seat headrests ? dont have those either. thanks Anna
E51 means "Short Range Interference Suppression"
As for the headrests somebody must have removed them from your G.

There must be holes to fit them... or not?

Mortinson, you are a genius, i dont know how you do it but thank you so much for all your hard work on this, so am i right in thinking that she is rare due to may things ie all the factory Options fitted but more importantly the special order colour.
I have been trying to also trace the Dealer in Itlay but no joy yet, was told it was a one owner vehicle as well and had full main dealer service history, but some swine stole the handbook/service book when getting it registered to come here. The speedo shows 22879 km and has not been clocked had 20101 km when i got here 2.5 years ago. thanks again Spanner Anna, will tighten up your nuts anytime (only joking as happily married sorry) x
