well the heading sums it up. :x

was failed for a coroded fuel line bt the sender.

snapped exhaust bracket

snapped rear coil.

rear fog warning light in the dial switch not working,so failed

"fix it i says",replace the bulb

most annoying one , and what leaves me G'less now is that the f**** king fuse for the fr ans rr rhd side light, interior dash/consol lights keeps blowing when you turn on the side lights

not sure what to do now... the mot place has caused a problem somewhere??

i think they have caused a wire to short when they welded the exhaust bracket??? :?

where is that bracket...??

Re: failed mot!

Salaam Huss sorry to hear about your issues...from experiencing a blown fuse everytime I switched on the front fog lights, it turns out the fog light cable was cut through causing a short, inside the housing, so inspect the wiring to the lights and remove the headlights, the last person to put the headlights back in might have pinched the cable to the side lights. Also look at where it goes in from the back (need to remove wheel arch liner for that).
Also I assume you already dropped the fuse box to check everything is nice and dry inside...

Re: failed mot!

Hi Huss first check that the fuse that is blowing is the one for ALL the systems that have failed..... then start looking at the places the MOT centre went into.if it is the fog light.. pop the cover and check the wiring and bulb holder.if they took out the switch to put a bulb in check how they did it. alternatively take it back to them as it is and tell them it was not like that when you put it in for MOT so can they rectify whatever they did to it that is causing the problem ....in the mean time you have springs to change before they will sign it off...perhaps they will fit them for you as a goodwill gesture !!!

Re: failed mot!

exactly my thoughts fixwin!!

i am absolutely feckin shocked!!

i removed the led sidelights today thinking they maybe shorting out,but not that...

the problem has actually blown a new light switch,so the mechanic says!

i checked where they welded the exhaust bracket under the rear door [drivers side] and all seems ok.

selam mostafa, the fuse box area is all dry and sound. only thing i can think of is that the front fogs never worked when marty or jonathen had the G. and i had them sorted out a few months ago by a local mechanic.

maybe they were not working for this reason...??

not sure, but hope to find out tomorrow when its collected by my mechanic who is calling over a good electrician he knows.....

will update when the puzzle is solved!

Re: failed mot!

all sorted now :P

after spending about £800!!

but its only money.....

anyhow, it came down to someone idiot messing about with wires behind the dashboard....

well atleast the consul lights are ok too[never had lights for the vents, dials etc] .

also had the naf, bodged up fuel lines changed with braided ones  shoul have been an original fitment. i was loosing fuel from the line above the fuel tank on the passenger sidej just below the arch liner. will post pics soon.

best part of the job was the fitting of my new orc springs

i was worried they would spoil the ride but infact combined with the original shocks the ride is super :!: :!:

my 280 had the orc springs too, but the koni heavy track raids were too stiff for normal town use....

this rides fantastic and sits really well too.

will sort out pics if the wife gives me a chance

Re: failed mot!

Sounds great...weird on a 1996 for the fuel lines to go...anything else corroded underneath..you should have a look! The fuel sometimes leaks from that corner if the fuel filter is replaced without putting in new copper washers..or excuse me I'm talking about the SWB..LWB is different...

I have the BFG M/T 235/85R16s fitted t my wholly standard narrow-axle W463 and they don't rub so I see no reason why they should not fit onto your wide-axle W463.
