Indeed.... all LHD. Last regular RHD W463s were the 1999 MY G500s (with similar interior to yours, i.e. no automatic climate control and no sat nav)

Cheers. Although I DO have SAT Nav and climate control all factory fit.

I wonder if I can get Mercedes on affecting my European human rights, by not producing a RHD affordable G :(

Spider1V - Why are all new G in the guise of the Devil

I have to disagree with your Morty on that one, I think I saw one or two 500s/55s in RHD and from the 2000 model year, with the later steering wheel from the S-class with steering-mounted controls and possibly sat nav (APS), but not climate control, as I think that only came in after the dash changed in 2001.

Sat Nav was an option on all Gs from the classic in mid 1999 onwards equipped with the Audio 30 APS. Mark has it on his G300 TD as well and I believe David may have it on his G500.

Climate Control was only introduced with Command 2.0 - so not Spider you don't have it... you have AC.

Mr Wheelhouse even has one for sale, from 2001, only one I've seen in the UK in RHD for that year.

Great minds and all that

Re: The MB G-Class Internet Specials

I think that's a 2000 MY- G-Wagen bought a whole bunch of them when Merc said they would stop producing RHD and thus I think some only got first reg in 2001...

But not all Gs with the multifunction wheel have the Sat Nav, I don't. Only the Audio 30s, the Audio 10s don't.

As for great minds - even posted at the same time down to the minute.

Sorry guys! My mistake! I meant that the last regular RHDs were the 1999 model year G500s with the older W463 dashboard, which had air conditioning but no automatic climate control and no integrated Command (Sat Nav).

As far as I know... though I naturally stand to be corrected, the only RHD Gwagens with the latest dashboard version are the G55 Kompressors made recently. But between 2000 and 2006 no civilian RHD was offered.

Max, though sold in 2000, all GWagens with the multifunctional steering wheel but the older dashboard are model year 1999.

Semantics here - but the Audio 30 APS does have integrated Sat Nav in so far as it was a factory fit option with the cluster being used to display directions. I believe it is referred to as first generation command.

This was available on RHD G500s and was standard on 2000MY Gs starting with the classic in mid 1999. 2000 was the last year of the older style dash.

But Command 2.0 which is what is in the G400 era and newer only came out in 2001 with the updated dash and as far as RHD Gs are concerned was/is only available on the G55K.

You are correct.... where I said 1999 I should have said 2000. MY2001 is when the interior changed and when the G400CDI in lieu of the G300 Turbodiesel.

So no civilian RHDs between 2001 and 2006.... (which was what Spider's question was about).

Correct again, but with the word integrated I mean integrated in the dashboard. Pre-MY 2001 models have a Din-sized radio-CD-SatNav, though as you quite rightly point out, integrated in the display. Is it that my English is really bad or is it that you want to discuss endlessly?

Re: The MB G-Class Internet Specials

Well, what can I say......... Nothing, except that;

Max you are correct - AC not CC
Isa - You are correct - as you ARE THE DEFINITIVE oracle for G's

Only wanted to know if I may have missed a trick on the RHD - but looks like its (gulp) £120K for an AMG (new) if I want the command system.

Don't thnk Mrs Spider will take that until we have abigger house!

Spider1V - Euro Lottery this week.......
