Well the G's gone time to say goodbye, who knows sometime in the future the pangs for another might get the better of me.

I offer my thanks to those who have advice in times of mechanical crisis, there have been several and the advice has been very helpful

I will say that there are some interesting views in this club and some who take a very interesting view about other makes of vehicles preceeded by retained value comments that in my view are well at best ill considered (I know we are all entitled to our own view just sometimes it feels like there is only one version of the truth allowed).

Liked my G but like my Rangie and Toyota just as much, all different , all have aspects where they better the other two.

I am sure there will be a number who jump on to the forum to take up the G cause, but frankly thats a contributary reason to why the G has gone. Its because of those very one eyed reactions and stuffiness of a very small minority in the club. Wonderfully demonstrated on the saturday before the AGM with the attitude at the pub after the afternoon split into two groups the on or off road parties, that I certainly wont miss.

To the 99% of you, thanks for the help and enjoy your G's

Re: leaving the fold

G-Day,

Sorry to see you go. Your Rangie and Toyota both excellent choices, shame you could not keep the G and have all eventuallities covered!!

Who knows maybe see you again? If the G Bug starts nibbling in the future. Are you a GLASS Member? If so maybe see you at one of the meets....?

Re: leaving the fold

Never please all of the people all of the time, how many times have I said that on here, as for opinions on others marques, having many myself, can say there is not one thats best for all the jobs, having a G, a patrol and a mitsy my angles are covered. But most opinions on here are all to be taken with a "Large pinch of salt", an never too seriously. Ill stick my neck out and say those who believe the G is the be all and end all very rarely or never been off road seriously, and never had the experience of owning other 4x4's. Its was good to meet you anyway.

Re: leaving the fold

G-day,

I am sorry to learn that you are not happy within the club and feel you ought to leave. I do not know of the full history, let alone any of what is causing you to leave, but you are probably doing so because this has effected you to that extent. I hope you can, with time, miss the club enough and rejoin us and get to meet the more neutral of us members.

Regards,

Re: leaving the fold

I really enjoy slagging landrover owners and others at events mostly about the build quality of the G. This is usually before they put me to shame on the off road sections and return later to recover me. (doesn't happen as much any more).
Its all for a bit of fun and none of us take it seriously. As for the club, so far I have found membership to be a most rewarding experience and financially great value to me.

Sorry to see you go, you might yet return but in any case remember "One Life, Live it" .

Regards,

Mike
