A CMGE colleague turned up at the trial the other day with this toy. Apparently he had all the guys dribbling for it! Loads of money and work to build. it's unique and it goes like a dream....

Re: Model G

Building process:

The G is made of parts from different kits. The Bodywork is from a Nikko model that is very detailed (first picture). One the plastic bodywork is usable... the rest is worthless

Re: Model G

Is the maker of this toy or better still, of the remote control unit willing to give a detailed list all parts and its sources? I have been after one for a long time. I liked the detailed soft tyres the model has. Has he, made a video clip of the offroading cababilties of his G-Wagen?

Please, get him to post a off road trail of his remote controll unit.

Looking forward to a speedy reply, from a very impatient r/control G-Wagen enthusiast.

Re: Model G

I reckon you could stick that on ebay with the outdoor pics and some muppet would buy it thinking it was a real one!

Could make a fortune.... aahh the criminal mind!

Re: Model G

Most likely oil shocks with seperate reservoirs, try www.tamiyaclub.com to see some great engineering. I've just got the Nikko G55. Good bet for a chassis is the Tamiya F350 high lift as it is 4WD with a 3 speed gearbox and live axles. Battery powered yes but battery technology is somewhat better than it used to be. Some of my electric cars will run 45 minutes to 1 hour although offroad reduces run time. My big electric truck (which is over 20 years old) can tow a person on a skateboard....

Re: Model G

I wonder if you could just use the Tamiya Unimog chasis... although it probably doesn't have portal axles like a real one...
