Was running around central London today and spotted two black Gs.

First was a black 460 SWB parked on North Audley Street and the second I thought was a G55K parked just off of Hanover Square, but closer inspection proved wrong... it was a K8. Hot on the heels of me saying that for all the Gs I have seen I had never seen a K8 or GV12.

And I even had my camera... and Spider for all the money that costs they still chose a LHD.

Yup - especially that rear bumper. Looks like an after thought. And the parking sensors clearly didn't help either as it is cracked from hitting something.

Yes this is a very good idea to increase the Gs rearwards view. You can do that with some version of the carrier just by turning it like 90º.

*shaking head very slowly*

Max, Max, Max - the only thing RHD stands for is the Right Hand of the Divine!

When will you learn that the only time the  comes in is when some one decided to chase me - usually Essex police - then it is a Real Hard DV8 (deviate) to catch.

Spider1V......... the 'Loki' G wagen Driver...... 8)

Re: Black London Gs

Hallo fellow G-uerillas!

This is my first post here in this forum and I hope I won't make me total idiot right now
Although this black London "K8" looks really cool, I have a doubt, is it real K8. I have several reasons for that, but I cannot be 100% sure too, as I, and probably everybody else here too, haven't seen under the bonnet of this London "K8". Only there could lay sure answer for that.
As you can compare original Brabus pictures to London "K8", you will see: a)Mercedes Star on grille (Original K8 doesn't have it and I haven't seen any other photo of K8 with Star) b) V8 and Kompressor decals on side panel (original doesn't have them (definitely not Kompressor decal anyway)) c) "old style" tail lights ( original K8 has new restyle lights) d) "old style" head lights (original K8 has new xenon lights).
Although these reasons are not good enough, I still guess that this "K8" has only bumper-upgrade. But as I said - true answer lays under bonnet...

Anybody, what's your oppinion on that matter?

Re: Black London Gs

The K8 has been around for many years in various guises so it is quite possible the changes you refer to are on the latest one.

Also Brabus will pretty much build you your car to your spec so I would suspect that if you wanted to keep the Merc star they would let you and it is possible he wanted to keep it badged as a merc. It also doesn't have the spoiler that K8s usually have, nor black rims.

I guess the question short of seeing the engine is will Brabus sell you the K8 badge if you don't have a K8?

More pics of this exact G posted on Autoblog.nl about a third of the way down.

Re: Black London Gs

To Maxwell and others,

thanks for not laughing me out - I am not the expert in that area or so, these were only my observations, so I am not claiming that "K8" is fake, just I have doubts, when comparing official pics. So it can be "customized" K8 indeed, but as I said - true answer lays under bonnet, because with badges and etc. we can do what we want.

Anyway, I wouldn't think twice, whether to take this "K8" or not!

Re: Black London Gs

I don't think anyone here is truly an expert when it comes to K8s (or even probably most of the subjects discussed here... ). It's all just opinons whether informed or not.

And in this case who is to say who is right and who is wrong other than Brabus themselves. Thus your guess is as good as mine as to the veracity of that G....
