If I were to have a set of 16" x 8" wheels manufactured for my 463 axles, without extending the wheelarch flares, what are the correct technical specifications regarding the offset and bolt pattern (PCD ?), that I would require ? Thanks.

Re: Wheel specifications...

Still toying with the idea of a set of steel modular wheels in 16 x 8" but with no more of an offset than the standard alloys, as I don't want to extend the wheelarch flares. So although Mach 5's are now available from Devon4x4 - I'm presuming I'd have to extend my flares to accomodate them ? One option was an enquiry to Ray Edwards (Suzuki - Rhino Ray) who seems to make or can have them made; custom wheels in any size - so just awaiting his reply. Another enquiry was to Scorpion Racing regarding their ZU Alloys, as a cheaper alternative, but again awaiting their reply - as the current range doesn't include G-Wagens ! However, tell me more about the wheels you have available, plus a photo if you can, as I'm keeping all my options open...

Re: Wheel specifications...

0ther guy who makes an identical wheel to that of a mach five is BT fabrications. I have a set for a nissan, but he has moved unit , but his number is 07713249845 . He can make the off set to that of std G. The Zu are nice but scorpion are not the best to deal with  Mach 5 have now been taken over by another company and production isnt to clever at the moment.

Typing this from the Penta hotel in isle of Man, your home ground :P

Re: Wheel specifications...

Yes I contacted them a few months back, after seeing his advert in TOR, but he said he wasn't doing any wheels again for the G-Wagen for sometime. Likewise with Devon4x4, they're not doing a production run for a couple of month's. Scorpion have been OK so far, but still waiting for their reply !

Hope you're having fun on the Island, have you got your G or the Nissan over with you, if so let me know (send a pm & I'll give you a contact for the IoM 4x4 Club). Sorry I can't meet you, but I'm at work a few thousand miles away, in the big sandpit !!!

Cheers Gavin

If your prepared to wait there maybe a second hand set of Mach 5 bead lockers up for grabs after Xmas.

Re: Wheel specifications...

Yep, sounds about right - whenever any of the film directors need torrential rain shots - that's the place to be !!!

Yes, by all means ask him - just make sure they're 16x8". Heard some promising news from Rhino Ray, looks as though he may be able to help with steel modulars at around £75 each ! So just waiting confirmation.
I may be interested in those Mach 5's also, although do you know off hand how much they stick out beyond the wheelarch flare ?
