Started driving my G around this week as I just had it shipped to the UK. Man this car has road presence! In Saudi I found that it simply blended in with all the GMC Suburbans and Toyota Landcruisers, but over here it sticks out like a sore thumb! (in a good way of course).

I used to have a dark blue 463 that never really got noticed, but my new one is Silver so is much more visible. I never expected to get all the looks I got though with people pointing at the car and turning their heads as I drove past. Drove past Harrow school yesterday and all the pupils just stopped and turned. We all just couldnt believe the attention! Well I havent been into London yet but Im sure that will be quite similar.

Dont get me wrong I didnt get it to pose in. If I was I would have bought an X6.

Does anyone else experience anything similar?

I turned up at a wedding in the country yesterday in my 460 SWB with blacked rear windows and the ushers were joking with me after that they expected the A Team to pile out the back!

Isn’t it great! I get it all the time!. Get ready for the ‘Supermarket Car Park Chat’ – Usually Mum’s and Dad’s who bring the kids over to have a look. (but be careful and watch out for the BHB – Bobble Hat Brigade!). The envious look you get from other 4x4 drivers. I turned up to a GLASS meeting last week and totally broke the mould! (They all have LR’s), the best is the respectful wave you get after a blast down the motorway* with something fast!

Glad your enjoying your G!

Spider1V –loves his G – it hits MY spot!
*I does not condone speeding at any time, rapid driving – yes, speeding no!

I got a lot of looks with my grey SWB. Less with my LWB as green doesn't stand out as much. Though I think that it is also because its usually dirty. People do tend to notice it more when it is clean...
