Feel a bit guilty asking this but here goes... does anybody have access to wiring diagrame or drawing that shows wiring and components for the led M/B logo that comes on in the aluminium sill when you open the door on the G500 as one of mine aint working and want to replace. I know its not essential to good off road but hey I like them

I think you should find the wires hook up to the door switch at the 'A '-pilllars.

Re: Sill Logo

Hmm am replacing the little black cube that I think has something to do with voltage regulation to the led thingy so maybe need to go further back in loom, just need some guidence before start dimantleing/removing trimm etc.
And whats wrong with crossdressing morriston? As long as you remember to gather your skirts in before you close the door it's not a problem, and need I point out how useful a pair of tight can be! not that I wear them so frightfully common stockings only for me!

My memory is hazzy on this, now you mention the little black cube, I have replaced these in the past, these do seem to be a weak point in the system, try swopping with the working side to see if this works.

Lifting the kick panel, you will notice the wiring to the lamp is fragile and delicate pay attention to these, water under the kick panel affects the function of the lamp and cleanleness of the contacts.

Take care, if the power is on and you fiddle with dirty contacts there can be a bit of sharp shock, a little more than the accidental shocks you sometimes get touch your car and you earth out.

Re: Sill Logo

That was quick. I didn't have time to ask for photos as I want to dismantle mine sometime. They are not working both sides. What's the repair then?

Re: Sill Logo

If it is the little black box then you need to order the harness section as it is an integral part the No is A 463 540 17 13. This is plugged into the main harness behind the kick plate waterproof sheet. Bit akward to get at but not to bad if you are a contortionist and you drop down the under dash carpet/footwell covering, make sure you have some replacement fixing studs those anoying thingies that you push a plastic core into to actuate then can never get out again. When extracting the old one after you have unplugged it remember to attach some string to act as a pull through for the new one, probably best done from the top down. Plug in new one connect plug/wire (had to cut plug off new one as my sill logo led pannel had bare wire conectors) to sill led and bingo flash as can be! Be carefull to make sure you have watertight seal on connections as obviouslt the sill get its fair share of moisture/rain/fording spilt champagne etc! Oh and as Rakesh said the sill logo led takes a fair bit of current so avoid shorting the wires with part of your body or anybody elses for that matter. Best of Luck
