Hi All,

The kids are pestering me to take Gehard off road, but trying to find routes I can take them for a bit of muddy pleasure and 'rocking and rolling' is proving quite hard. Last thing I want to do is take it down some lane and get a load of rambler swearing and cussing me (especially with the kids and wife in the Truck - I would end up introducing them to the Brush Guard! )

And calling the local council has proved no joy at all - keep being bounced around various departments - nice to see heard earnt local taxes being well spent!

Anyone a member? Have been surfing the web and came across them. Looks good on the web page, just wondered if anyone here is a member or has experience. Problem is most of them seem to be LR owners .... ah well just have to show them how its done! 8)

They have a list of accessable green lanes - but one has to be a member

Spider you could also look at CRAG (countryside recreational access group) there membership fee is low and also they will have information on the status of lanes that the bobble hat brigade can't argue with.

You will need to meet up with other groups to assess the suitability of the lanes for your truck. Not whether it will make it through them more the risk of damage in the process, although without the right tryes as we start to get to the muddier conditions you will have problems.

I am member of another LR orientated sight and whilst the membership is 85% LR's there are Land Cruisers, Delicia's, G's (well two anyway!)shoguns etc . The issue is the routes most of these guys go on includes some quite challenging stuff amongst the gentler green lanes, as I say its more a damage issue than a capability one but you need to find out how difficult you want them to be and the only way is to join a local club unless this forum can give you advice on lanes near where you live.

My first time out with the local club the disco in front ended up on its side with the driver looking like a tank commander whilst standing on the inside of the passanger door with his head out of the drivers window!

Last time out nine river crossings and one rock section when the G was at such an angle my 5ft 4in wife could have walked under the rear drivers side wheel we were at such a degree of lean ..... wouldn't want to take a shiney G500 on those lanes  but thats just me I know Richard would
