Bought a set of aftermarket wheel arches. A rather impulsive acquisition as I'm not sure I'm ever going to put them on the car. That's because it seems these glassfibre arches require drilling in the panels and even cutting a higher arch in the rear panels. (Apart from that I'm not sure I like the look).
Are the original ones mounted in the same way? Seems rather primitive. Do the original ones also require a cutout in the rear panels? And are the mudguards (or whatever they're called: the plastic inserts on the inside of the panels) different?

Ps can you guys please start asking really easy to answer questions on this forum? I'd like to help somebody else out for a change :-)

Re: Question about mounting aftermarket wheel arches (463)

I have OEM retro fitted ones .. yes still drill holes through the lip.

The offical ones had the rear wheel arch hacked out .. but I do not have this and have had no ills with 31" tyres... no doubt you might with real big tyres.
