Hi Folks , thought you might like to see some pics of Big Blues progress in getting ready for this years Tay Forest Challenge and The Ae Challenge . The idea is to get some better tree protection / sliding capabilities but keep the good reliable running gear as is . My main concern was not to add weight to an already heavy truck therefore off came the roof and rear tub area and doors , doors will be detachable , frame will be panelled in blue powdercoated panels where possible and if its not needed it wont be fitted ideal will continue throughout to a point . By fitting a differnt radiator I can mount the front winch below the rad and therefore remove 7 inches from the front , I have shortened the bonnet by 2 inches to get the look right as well as mounting the rear winch inboard just behind the rear crossmember means we have a much better angle at the back . The exhaust will exit through the rear chassis tube as well so its well out of harms way . Fuel tank , winch and batteries will be as far back as poss. for weight distribution and lights etc recessed for protection . I am trying to keep Big Blue looking like a G so thats why we have gone for the squarer corners at the front wings and the rear will use the orignal lights etc . Anyway lots more work to do and not alot of time to do it. Will post more pics of progress as and when . Cheers Allan Gibson
