This is just a heads up that the 30th Anniversary Meet in the Gs hometown of Graz will tentatively take place June 18-21st 2009.

G owners from all around the world will converge on Graz for these days and of course we will aim to have as many Gs there as possible.

Preliminary discussions are for UK members to drive down in convoy possibly meeting other clubs on route.

We will keep you posted as details are confirmed.

If it is anything like the 25th Anniversary Meet then I am sure it will be a spectacular event and one not to be missed by G fans.

They have said the dates are 95% certain.

So are you coming to Tunisia too? I think your country men are taking what I hope are friendly jibes at me but as I can't read Spanish....

I would love to join the Tunisia trip but I am jobless at the moment and cannot plan as far ahead (as usual).

As for the guys at the CMGE, yes they behave like rednecks sometimes

Ian, I know that carnal knowledge between two males is almost mandatory in England but where I come from is still a sin!

Though on second thoughts, as long as you dress up like the lady in your avatar, I might consider it....

Re: 30th Anniversary Meet in Graz

That is going to be a spectacle, and hopefuly better than the LR 60th I have just been to, wash my mouth out. Its a long drive in any G tho, so I will squeezy jet it and a hurts rental, unless there is a volunteer willing to drive a 350 towing a trailer with a 280 on it. :D

Re: 30th Anniversary Meet in Graz

I suppose it would be a challenge to get the BRIXMIS 280 out of the museum and drive it all the way and then back via Eastern Germany and Berlin.

Re: 30th Anniversary Meet in Graz

i am thinking of flying in (obviously..) from indonesia.
now the wife wants to tag along with an infant (will be 1 1/2 yo then).
i was planning to go by myself, this is not going to be cheap.
i hope i can come up with the fund needed..

any idea how long we need to stay in graz?
is it just going to be a full day event or whould we plan on spending more than 1-2 nights there?

Re: 30th Anniversary Meet in Graz

I think the event will be spread over the full 4 days but there are no more details at this time.

Don't forget airline tickets for an infant less than 2years old are free - you just pay tax.

Re: 30th Anniversary Meet in Graz

I am definitely going in muy trusty G300D. Never mind the heat... it's got aircon :D

Using Via Michelin, there are 2,261 kms between my home and the hotel in Graz... that is some 300 litres of diesel (one way)... a small fortune. So I am trying to take a couple of weeks holidays and spend some time in Barcelona, Marseille, Monaco, Genova, Piacenza, Brescia, Venezia and Klagenfurt. I could probably convince Freyer to tag along in his G300 Cabrio... who knows!

So guys let us keep one another posted about future plans.

Re: 30th Anniversary Meet in Graz

Absolutly not a problem as long as there is other traffic.
biggest problem I experienced was car parks
and
turning out to the left onto an empty stretch of road
fortunately another vehicle appeared before I got any way on
cheers

Re: 30th Anniversary Meet in Graz

I understood that it was necessary to DRIVE there in Der "G" Wagen , to qualify for the "furthest travelled" prize.
the trans Alantic crossing could be tricky
unless there is a submariene varient i am unaware of :?:
Cheers

Re: 30th Anniversary Meet in Graz

It is not apparent unless you go into the information pages posted by the German And Swiss Clubs, that the Dead Line for registeration is March 31st 2009! Further more, the programme is vague inso far as, it paints the general picture of events, but not detailed enough, for maximum pleasure which requires some planing, certainly for me, to enjoy th event.

There is a cost of 275 Euros for a partipation fee, this includes an evening meal on the anniversary party, but what is partipation fee further include? the parade around graz? What options are open, should one, decide not to opt for the parade but pay for the 'Nosh'?

On arrival, where do we go first, the factory or the Schwarzl See (Sea - Nice surroundings) Recreation Centre? Are there costs' to paid for, at this centre? Hope you see my concerns; I think these sort of questions should be collectively asked by our club on our behalf.

I have not digested the itinary as already posted by our 'friends over the water' to picture continuity in the days there.

Regards :?
