It is so tempting, I did that too with a stub a bit smaller than that, my friend wanted it for his fire, so up and out it went (from a 2 storey high conifer), but we struggled to fit into the boot of his W124 coupe (had to saw some bits off)!

Hope he didn't tear up his sidewalk and lawn! I've done that once before too, except I succeeded by getting the trunk all the way out into the street and leaving a very nice ditch in my perfectly pampered lawn.
