Thank you , Very interesting to see how the premium on the 400cdi quickly erodes . Have been using this url http://eng.autoscout24.com/ but most of the photos etc will not show. Does it work for you guys in UK?

If you want an online list of Gs available try mobile.de

Early G400s are cheap as they were very problematic. Newer G400s are still pricey. G270s had pretty high resale value until recently when the G320 CDI came out. The only diesel which is still really commanding a relatively high price is the 2000 G300 TD.

Down here it would be a folly to bring a 400cdi and even the 300TD engine is not common here. However the 270 is rife in all the campervans so a 2002 or later G270 will fill the bill. They appear as well appointed as the 400. Having a modern diesel engine in my 460 has whetted my appetite for something newer. Done 20000 km now and it is no slug nor a fuel scoffer and it is not hard on the eardrums.
