Spider the Turtle
Ya there are a few Gs with them that came with them from the factory but I think it is difficult to get them otherwise.
You get the scratches out of your G yet?
Nope - not yet - want to keep them on for a while - show some of the other G 500 owners not just a cool street machine, but an uber off roader as well! Though at the moment I must say I must be getting all of 10HP out of a 300HO engine :x
Off to MB at the end of the month to see what’s up. They can diagnose the problem… (I know there is one as I have RR and TDI’s over taking me – NOT a happy Spider at the moment) - but good MPG - at least 18-19 on trips and dare I say Clare did a 22MPG back from Essex last week end.....

what spider getting passed by other 4x4s???? impossible.
though 22mpg has got to be a record for your G....
you put good fuel in her dont you joe?
what is wrong with it. The mass air flow sensor plays up and causes lack of power. Try that.
Had to have the "air mass sensor" replaced on my old G and my Dads due to lack of power. I think it cost £200 / £300
Find out whether it has had a new air flow meter fitted. They all seam to require replacing at around 40-50 k and display symptoms similar to yours.

This is what I just found out from the US board. I just bought one of these sensors from ebay for £15 new. But I think from the shop they are several hundred. I understand that it is a quick job to replace them. Mine was done a year or so by previous owner, I just bought a spare because it was cheap.
Another fault I have learned about these M113 V8s is the crankshaft pulley. They split in two after a while. MB did a recall and replaced them FOC. Perhaps if yours hasn't been done you could/ should get MB to do it for free. From what I have read it affected all the vehicles s. sl c, g with the 113. Fortunately, mine was done a the PO also at his expense.

Mine was done last month .... :(
spider - roly does say recall followed by Free of Charge....
But I thought James offered a 12 month warranty. At least that is what he advertises...

I know - its rather embarrassing..
Yup - any other 500's beat that??
