Re: OIL BLOWING PAST DIP STICK HOUSING

It is possible to replace the d/stick seal. Ensure the oil level is not over filled, secondly, that the engine breathing is not blocked. Gases from the block should re-circulate freely, back into the induction chambers.

If there is a pool of oil collected and feeding back into the air filter, the engine is 'breathing' heavily, an early indication of compression ring problems or excessive wear in the bores; with that you should be getting a smokey exhaust pipe too.

Should that be the case, of seized rings, then, at your next and susequent oil changes use an engine flushing agent before draining your oil and replenishing with anew. This can help control rings to free up in some instances.
