Hello All,

Sorry for only making my first post here on GWOA today but being registered allready since June 2006

Also sorry for making my first post ('North Cape and beyond' thread) without proper introduction beforehand.

Some of you might know me as 'NorthseaRoughneck' from P3 where I've been 'operating' for the last 2 years.

For those of you who don't know me yet, I own a 300GD from 1990 (SWB) and am currently on the lookout for a LWB 300GD (463) due to future family extension.
I am absolutely nuts about the Geländewagen in all of it's aspects and try to gather info about this phenomenon (books, internet, hands on experience, mingle with the international G crowd, etc. etc.) as much as possible.

My other interests are:

My wife and my future little one.
Mountains ... as in snowboarding, tracking, light climbing, etc.
Traveling ... using my 300GD where possible.

Background info about my login name(s):

I work offshore on a drilling rig and started roughneckin' back in 1999.

As this was announced as a 'quick introduction' I should stop right here!

Regards,

Roughneck

Re: Quick introduction

Welcome to the UK and congratulations on your future little one!

Must say that considering the price of the G in the Netherlands I am always surprised at the amount I see over there.

I think you'll find a good few Dutch posters here.

Re: Quick introduction

welcome to the GWOA. Sounds as if you know the regulars already, i should really get back into P3 but already spend too much time online looking at all things 4 wheels!

Good luck with the hunt, many happy miles!

Re: Quick introduction

I think we need to change your name... too much confusion with roughneck from P3....

Re: Quick introduction

Thanks for the warm welcome Gentlemen (and gentle Ladies :?: ),

I feel at home already!

Unfortunately Roly I don't get any discount on oil based products. There's no freebies in the offshore oil and gas business.

Maxwell, I hate to say it but you might be right about my login name. I still feel as if Bill 'stole' my login name when he registered with P3  as I was already using the Roughneck login back on the benzworld forum as well as with G-Aventura. On top of that I've beat him to it here as well :D .

I believe you are able to take care of such a login name change so if you feel like that it is really necessary than by all means change it into NorthseaRoughneck if you wish.

Once again, thanks for the welcome.

Later,

Roughneck (for as long as it will last)

Re: Quick introduction

Well we can leave it as Roughneck then. I didn't realise you were using it elsewhere.

Re: Quick introduction

Theg,

Was/is it any good working in the Norwegian sector? I wouldn't mind breaking out in that sector ... hear they have great rotations etc.

What were/are you doing for Stena, or were/are you with a service company?

Regards,

Roughneck
