Yes, pictures do read a thousand words. You have spent a lot of Money, which does make you definately a true G-Wagen buff.

Your fuel tank is interesting, is an anti-slosch tank? By, that I mean, is it meant, obviously, not to strave of fuel when hill climbing? And purhaps contain fuel from leaking if the vehicle over-turns.

I notice that you have even renewed the timing chain. It would be nice to hear what your motor sounds like.

Regards,

Re: My proto

My tank is a competition tank. It is OK for all what you say. It's very expensive, but at the end, for me, it's really needed. In case of big crash, the tank is able to resist to fire. And complety safe in case of crash.

I don't spend so much money. My budget was approximatively 5000euros + the véhicule. I work by myself on it maybe 800 hours. 9 months.

The sound is realy nice !!! Tomorrow, I post a small video.

Re: My proto

That is one mother of a job!! Congratulations, looking great.
Only concern I'd have (but i'm sure you looked into it already) is how to access the t-case when you have the great big skid plate protection (apparently) welded underneath. If it's not welded then it would make more sense..i'm sure there's a way to remove it!

Re: My proto

I am really amazed you stick with the 280 engine and I agree as well.
I only realised recently what a beast of an engine is 280 specially OFF ROAD. My one had a recent cylinder head overhaul, new camshaft wheels, etc. And I am amazed with it. It is very powerfull and responsive in any situation.I would say it is more than adequete. I am sure you are doing some mods on that engine as well.CAn you let us know please?

Re: My proto

Thank one more time for all your coments !!!!

For my engine ? How to say that....   YES

I have remove the system of depolution in the exhauste pipe. Modified the camshaht (modification of cam). Liberation of gaz with my new exhaust pipe. I have in projet to realize a 6 to 2 to 1 for the exhaust, but I have not enougth time. Maybe later. And we made a very precise set of the K.jetronic.
I think now I have approximatively 190hp.

My plate protection is very easy to remove. And I don't put it everytime. Only when I want to make some 'rock-crowler'. Because in the mud, it's terrible.... And all is hotter with the plate.
nevertheless, I have already put my car on a big stone, and the protection is very efficient !!!!
