I am travelling to Ireland at the end of the month, coming in at Larne and travelling down to Skibbereen, near Cork.

What should I be stocking up on in the North on the way down, and what on the way back i.e fuel, drink etc.? Or is there no significant difference

TIA

Re: Irish question

I dont think there is a need to "stock "up on anything as we are quite modern and thisn isnt Beirut . It might be to your advantage to fill up as much fuel as you can once you get in the Republic as it is much cheapper here compared to the UK.

So alcohol is cheaper in the north but will be the same as in Scotland where you are coming from . But is very price in Rep .

Only thing cheaper here is fuel everything else is very pricey

I wasn't imlying that Ireland was in any way backward

Thanks for the info on the fuel and booze. Stock up on the Blackbush in the North and diesel in the South. :)

Maxwell, I'm not going over in the G, I bought a V class a couple of months ago for the trip. The prices being asked for set of jump seats to fit the G were too much.

Re: Irish question

No problem, it's sometimes difficult to guage the tone..

I arrive in Larne around lunchtime, and then travelling down to Rush for an overnight stop, and then down to Cork the next day.

I should think I'll have time for a detour to Bushmills :D

The last time I was there, which was about 5 years ago, they had this mad bicycle race down the main street, which every man and his dog seemed to partake in.
