Wanderlust
Just wondered how many people here harbour a desire to take off in their G wagen to far flung places, not just a holiday but an extended trip.
Did you develop these thoughts after getting the G - was it the catalist? or did you always want to travel?
Where would you go?
Iceland - Glacier running
Spider1V
Always wanted to travel and have travelled extensively in the past.
Long term goal is London to Borneo by G. G was bought with this in mind.
Short term goal is the MOT testing station.....
Iceland is easy ferry from Scotland .... :D .
For me it would have to be the classic Africa , In a 2CV full Africa spec .
Wearing Flip flops made from Michelin XS tyres , Must remember to pack a pair of bata wellys for the centrel African republic .
Or a trip to camp a Timbuctoo on a uni-cycle with a sand tyre fitted ..
Twodogs
well chris, i have such a plan in the pipeline this summer...
goes like this, i and the missus are all set to drive from dover to Ancona [Italy] and from there we catch a ferry to Igenomitsa [Greece] . from there we will drive to selanika[birth place of the famous turkish leader Ataturk  from there we head on to Ipsala crossing point[Turkey] and head for the unbelievable city of Istanbul . we will head down south from there to konya, karaman and then reach mersin and catch a ferry over to north cyprus
only problem is, if you can call it a problem is that the G stays in the uk and we go in the clk55 cab
roof down, wind deflector up air con on......man i cant wait!
i hope to arrange a similar winter trip with ruby in the winter :P
