) diesel.
As last night in Portstewart
I saw a Bently
Except it was a Crysler 300 ( diesel)
Well it looked like a Bently in the rearview
and when it was parked up I inspected the windscreen
1231 Euros road fund licence ( or whatever they call it )
So at our shitty current currency exchange rate
Say £1000.00 Car tax
Ouch.

Welcome to rip of ireland

Welcome to Rip of Ireland .

That is the same price that my Tax is for my 460 1987 on a annual basis and there is talk now that it will become € 2000 in the next few months .

A friend of mine imported a Bentley gt with 4000 miles on the clock and they still wanted to sting him over a €100k for the Vrt even though he paid the same market price for the car that it cost in any other european state .

I laugh at you lucky people in the Uk when you giving out about prices because every Gwagen that we buy here you can almost add 40% to the market price to get your VRT add on

Best of both worlds there Chris
Course if you resided in the South you avoid all parking fines and charges in the North.
So there is some benefit in those steep motoring charges.
Though strangely it appears this arrangment is not recriprocal.
